Our Special Order on Demand (SOOD) Model
While we operate primarily as an online magic shop, it’s important to note that we do not stock all the listed products in our local store. Instead, we follow a Special Order on Demand (SOOD) model, which means that the products are specially ordered from our suppliers only when an order is placed by a customer.
The Evolution of Our Business Model
In the past, we used to place weekly orders with our suppliers to restock our walk-in store and would also include extra products for online orders. However, due to the low volume of walk-in customers, we have had to adapt our business model. We can no longer justify placing weekly orders for our walk-in store.
Instead, we have transitioned to a new SOOD business model for online orders. Here’s how it works:
Placing Orders and Delivery
When a customer places an order on our website, there is a minimum order requirement of $100. Once the order meets this requirement, we proceed to order the products from our suppliers. The delivery of these products to our store typically takes 3-4 business days.
Once we receive the products, we carefully package and ship them to the customer. The total turnaround time, from the customer placing the order to receiving the products, is usually around 7-10 business days.
Product Availability and Refunds
In some cases, certain items may not be available from our suppliers. If this happens, we will promptly refund the customer for the amount of the unavailable items. We understand that this may cause some inconvenience, but it allows us to offer a wider range of over 8,000 magic products without having to carry everything in stock in our limited physical store space.
While our walk-in store in Arizona carries about 300 popular staple products in stock, our online platform allows us to offer a much larger selection. We believe that the slight inconvenience of the turnaround time is outweighed by the ability to provide our customers with access to a vast array of magical products.
